ABSTRACT In this project, a portable cost effective AC/Solar rechargeable lantern was constructed. The dual-purpose rechargeable was designed to store energy from AC utility power source and solar power source. The electrical energy was stored in a rechargeable battery with a charge controller to regulate the charging process.
